Offline-First Logistics App for GCC Distribution

A React Native mobile application enabling field teams in remote areas to sync inventory data seamlessly upon regaining connectivity.

Mobile logistics app interface showing delivery routes and offline sync status

Client & Context

GCC distribution & logistics operator — shared with client permission; company name withheld under our standard NDA

A major GCC distribution company relied on paper manifests for deliveries in remote areas with poor cell coverage. This caused a 48-hour delay in inventory reconciliation and frequent invoicing errors.

The Challenge

Develop a cross-platform mobile application that functions entirely offline, securely queues hundreds of transactions, and syncs reliably without data loss or duplication when the driver returns to a coverage zone.

Our Approach

We built a React Native app utilizing WatermelonDB for high-performance local data storage and offline-first architecture. We implemented a custom sync engine with conflict resolution and background tasks to ensure data consistency with their legacy ERP system.

The Results

  • Zero data loss reported across 150+ daily active field workers
  • Inventory reconciliation delay reduced from 48 hours to near real-time
  • Paper-based errors eliminated, saving estimated $120k annually
