How we price software projects

We don't publish a fixed price list because scope varies too much to make one honest — but here's exactly how pricing works, what changes the cost, and what range to expect.

Three ways to work with us

The right engagement model depends on how well-defined your requirements are and how you want to collaborate day to day. We'll recommend one during discovery — you're not locked into a single model for the life of the relationship.

Fixed Scope

Well-defined deliverables with a fixed price and timeline. We scope carefully upfront, agree on milestones, and ship to spec.

Best for: MVPs, v1 product launches, and clearly bounded feature builds

Dedicated Team

A fully embedded engineering team that works as an extension of your organization — same people, your roadmap, our delivery discipline.

Best for: Long-term products, platform evolution, and ongoing feature growth

Time & Material

Flexible engagement for evolving requirements. Pay for the expertise and hours you use, with full transparency on progress and spend.

Best for: Discovery phases, audits, and projects with shifting priorities

Indicative Ranges

What range should I expect?

Every project is scoped individually, but most engagements fall into one of these bands. We ask about your budget range during initial contact so we can propose something realistic for your investment level, rather than guessing:

  • Under $10,000
  • $10,000 – $25,000
  • $25,000 – $50,000
  • $50,000 – $100,000
  • $100,000+
  • Not sure yet

A small, well-defined MVP or single-platform mobile app typically sits toward the lower end of this range. A multi-platform product with compliance requirements or deep legacy-system integration typically sits toward the higher end. Dedicated-team engagements are billed on an ongoing basis rather than a single project total.

What actually changes the price

Scope & platform count

A single-platform MVP costs less than a multi-platform product built for iOS, Android, and web at once.

Integration complexity

Connecting to legacy systems, third-party APIs, or existing ERPs/HIS adds discovery and testing time.

Compliance requirements

PDPL, HIPAA, or financial-regulation requirements add architecture, audit-trail, and QA work upfront.

Timeline

Compressed timelines may require a larger dedicated team to hit the same scope in less calendar time.

Ongoing support

Post-launch support and continued feature development are scoped separately from initial build cost.

For complex or evolving requirements, we often recommend starting with a short, separately scoped discovery phase — see how we work for the full delivery process, or explore our services to see what's typically included in each type of engagement.

Pricing FAQ

Pricing questions

Straight answers about budgets, billing, and what's included.

How does Hakrosoft price a software project?

Pricing depends on the engagement model you choose: fixed scope for well-defined deliverables, a dedicated team for ongoing work billed on a recurring basis, or time & material for evolving requirements billed by hours used. We confirm the right model and a firm estimate during discovery.

What's a realistic budget range for a custom software project?

It varies significantly by scope — a focused MVP or single-platform mobile app typically falls in a different range than a multi-platform enterprise system. We ask about budget range during initial contact so we can propose a scope that's realistic for your investment level, rather than guessing.

Do you require full payment upfront?

No. Fixed-scope projects are typically billed against agreed milestones, and dedicated-team or time & material engagements are billed on a recurring cycle (commonly monthly) tied to work actually delivered.

Is a discovery phase billed separately?

For projects with unclear or evolving requirements, we often recommend a short, separately scoped discovery phase (time & material) to produce a firm estimate before committing to a fixed-scope contract — this reduces the risk of scope disputes later.

What's included in the price — do you charge extra for QA or support?

Structured QA is built into every engagement, not billed as an add-on. Post-launch support is typically scoped separately as an ongoing dedicated-team or time & material arrangement, since support needs vary widely once a product is live.
